Moon
The moon is made out of... cheese!
2018
Final Year Project
Category: Spatial, Experience
Under the supervision of Christopher Goh
What is the atmosphere of an interior space? How do we define it let alone design for it? How do we translate the current trance like mantra reply of “nice” into a tangible design quality?
After selecting a food type, we engaged in User Experience research methods to study and understand human cognitive behaviour in relation to the retailing of the selected food type. The Atelier will also study how interior atmospheres can be sensitively analysed and designed to enrichen the experience of the user.
In this project, I design with cheese as my food type.

Entrance
Between the two curved fixtures - like 2 slices of cheese - is a gap . Entance is designed to provide coverage without having a door - to encourage and welcome customers.
This is the start of the user’s journey that is categorised by experience: knowing, tasting, buying.

Cheese sampling
Entering into the store is a free exploration zone for discovering and sampling.
To make the store more inviting and less intimidating , there is natural lighting and colourful interiors to break down the posher connotations that a traditional cheese shop may have.
